Our day started with a trip out to breakfast to a very local establishment - the food was excellent and the experience is recommended as long as you don't mind having a chicken run by while you are eating. Our budding photog captured the moment, it is a bit dark and he did ask if he could zoom, but I said no - I guess I should have let him. The Taro pancakes with vanilla sauce were terrific.
We loaded up the car and returned to Baldwin park today even though it was a bit overcast. That didn't slow Davis down a bit as he enjoyed having running races (by himself) digging in the sand and swimming with Pop and Mommy. Carter couldn't be bothered by all of the activity.
Our topless, pot-smoking neighbors on the beach didn't chase us away but the rain did, though we did manage to dodge the showers enough on our way home to watch the windsurfers and kite surfers at Ho'okipa, the windsurfing capital of the world.
This one I took (very zoomed in) from the deck at our house yesterday.
These are from the overlook right at the beach this afternoon.
Turn the volume up all the way before you press play on this one.
I love the sound...a rainy day here still beats work!
Our day ended with spaghetti and Karin's homemade sauce. This guy wasn't so lucky, he must have been paying resort prices. I've heard of charging an arm and a leg, but this is ridiculous.
I bet Dad thought he was going to see another Victoria Secret photo shoot again like the last time we saw a pick up truck with a bunch of shady characters on a deserted hawaii beach. I guess no Heidi Klum or Tyra Banks this time!
