A new take on nature walks

From Karin:

I've been trying to take advantage of the extra time I have while we're here to exercise more.  I spent today's walk looking at the trees and bushes more than anything... it's just so easy to get distracted by all of the beautiful flora around here.  I got a little side tracked from my workout because I started collecting pretty things I saw along the way.  It's a bit hard to really "power walk" when your hands are overloaded with fruit and flowers.  So, while I may not have had the most intense workout, I did get a really pretty picture when I got home.  Enjoy the photo below... everything in this picture was found on or near our property.  Not bad for a 45 minute walk and I don't think I violated any trespassing laws procuring what I brought home.

Actually, let's make this more interesting and try some interactive blogging.  The first person to correctly match the names I've given with each item and e-mail me their answers, gets a Hawaiian prize.  (Judge's discretion on accuracy of answers and value of prize.)

A disclaimer before you begin:  I may or may not have made up some names.  You decide.
List of objects to match:
Unripe mango
Plumeria blossom (Hawaii's state flower)
Oddly blue grape-nuts
African tulip
Rock
Hibiscus
Cut guava x2
Miniature trumpet lily
Aloe
Inverted plumeria blossom
Two eyed purple passion flower

  1. The technical work involved in downloading the picture and adding text boxes with the names of these things is too much for me --but I had fun matching and LOVE all the colors ...
