By the Numbers

From Peter (obviously):

14.52 -My new favorite number.  This is the cost of one small, one medium and one keiki gelato.  (You might be surprised who eats each one.) So far the three of us have had 14 different flavors.

82.50 -The scariest gas pump total we have had so far.  The stations are thankfully reluctant to break the $5 barrier though I read in the paper that they are charging $6.03 a gallon in Hana.

12.5 -The percentage that "sale" prices are higher here.  Those of you that frequent Stop & Shop are familiar with the ever present 10 for $10 signs.  Here it is 8 for $10.

15 -Minutes I spent just making faces at Carter the other day.  There wasn't anything I would have rather been doing and fortunately there wasn't anything else that I was supposed to be doing.  It is great to feel totally present in those moments, I am very lucky.

8 -Number of hours Carter slept last night - YEAH!

58 -Extra pounds in the double stroller with both boys on board.  Our house is at the bottom of a big hill so every walk starts with a good, hard, up-hill workout.  Karin's buns are lookin' good...

808 -This is the area code in Maui and many businesses include it in their title.  I've seen 808 Flooring, 808 Deli, 808 Psychic Healing, 808 Waterproofing, 808 Towing, 808 Septic Repair, 808 Pediatrics. (I may have made two of those up)

575 -I still think this is clever.

77.2 -Average ocean temperature.

92,000 -Current full-time population of Maui.

92,004 -Who knows...
